When you purchases a gift certificate, a special debit account is created in the Gift Certificate Manager for each gift certificate purchased.
You will receive a unique "gift certificate code" in their order receipt. This random, unique code is generated automatically by the Shopping Cart. This code can be used by the certificate-holder on subsequent orders to redeem their gift certificate for store credit. .
Redeeming Gift Certificates
To redeem a gift certificate, the certificate-holder must enter their unique code into the "discount code" or "gift certificate code" box (enter exactly the way the Code is generated, including the hyphens) that appears in the Shopping Cart. Multiple codes can be entered, separated by commas, and gift certificate codes can be combined with discount codes. If the gift certificate code is recognized, it will appear as a line item on the order confirmation screen. The holder will also be shown the balance remaining in their gift certificate account.
The certificate-holder must select a payment method when redeeming their gift certificate, even if their order total is expected to be less than the face value of the gift certificate. The selected payment method is used to pay any remaining difference between the value of the gift certificate and the order total. The holder cannot choose how much of the value of their gift certificate to use, the Shopping Cart always deducts any remaining value of any applicable gift certificate accounts up to the full amount of the order total. If store credit remains in the gift certificate accounts, the gift certificate code can continue to be used on additional orders until the account is empty.
In the event that the holder forgets or loses their gift certificate code, please contact us and we can look up this code in the original order receipt or in the Gift Certificate Manager.
